The only complaint I have wasthat each hinge was bent and had to be straightened in a vise. I am pleased with the results.31) Submitted by Joe Wlostowski, from Johnson City, NY on The use of non-mortise hinges is great. I reamed the countersinks slightly, making themdeeper - that took care of the problem. The only problem Ihad was that the furnished screws did not seat flush in the countersunkhinge holes, thus keeping the door(s) from closing totally withoutmarring the edges. I have since orderedreplacements (31313) to hopefully solve this problem.29) Submitted by Brad, from Austin, TX on These hinges are just what I needed for the project. As a result, the doors were 'spring loaded' and did notclose, thus the magnetic catches would not hold. Myproject involved doors with small outside radius' so therefore the hinge(door side) when installed, did not result in a true 90 degree relativeinstallation. Note that above flush screwheads is a very common problem with this type of hinge.28) Submitted by John, from Winston Salem, NC on I was surprised to discover that these hinges do not maintain square ifinstalled on anything other than 'exact' 90 degree corners/edges. If you knew that andpurchased some replacement screws maybe the problem is that the heads donot flush down into the counter sunk hole. INSTALLING NON MORTISE HINGE CRACK
The hinge I'm using ison the right. Are the screws flush with the face of the hinge? If even one ishanging out a little (on either the door or the cabinet) it will hitthere before the door is closed. You might try cutting a notch in a piece of paper (so you can hold onto it) then stick it through the crack at the hinge and closing thedoor on top of the paper.
